Is Vavi Bidding To Be Mr Clean In The Tripartite Alliance?

Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi justifies the idea of a "Corruption Watch" by claiming
"Corruption is a cancer that threatens the foundations of our democracy. It occurs in the public and private sectors, even within our unions."

He promises
a "powerful" anti-corruption institution of civil society will comprise a team of lawyers, accountants and auditors, who will conduct preliminary investigations and process these with the relevant authorities.

But is there something more behind this? Does he have more ambitious personal plans or is this solely his contribution to a better South Africa?

While The "Important" Debate and Strategise The People Suffer.

In amongst the high power stuff in Durban, this is the down to earth reality! Its interesting that this is a Traditional Leader in a rural knocking down shops and warning people about accommodating foreigners!

Dr Sue Cook of the research and planning division of the Bafokeng administration confirmed the "Operation Demolition" of about seven buildings, including those newly built and not yet in operation.

She said warning letters were issued on September 9 and the demolition started the following day and that it was an ongoing operation.

Sounds so much like what we thought was the past!

ANC Looking To Get Whites To Contribute And Commit!

This is an encouraging indication, if the ANC were able to pull it through against the masses and Malema. There are surely many South Africans who would like to see the return of strong and feisty South Africa, even still under black rule!

Conversely if the ANC doesn't reap the wasted expertise and experience, whites will put it to their own use which could be less beneficial.

Wonder If Malema Is Relaxing Today, After Yesterday's Onslaught ?

That was quite something yesterday as the clips of newspaper stories show.

It's interesting or disturbing when the consoling comes from Winnie - I'm sure that made Malema happy to build closer links with the women's league!

COSAS Demands No Exams and Full Marks With Unacceptable Rhetoric - Showing Real Immaturity!

So COSAS (Congress of South African Students) is calling on Grade 12 students to boycott the trial examinations and the government to award them full marks for not writing the exam!

What kind of twisted logic gives a student full marks, independent of their performance and what is the point of not writing the exam which is there to assess what is required over the next few months.

Then to add to their "serious" approach to these matters

Cosas secretary general Antonio Carelse said that the minister "must not come crying to us when we make the country ungovernable" and that "The minister will run. As fat as she is, she will run!"

Moeketsi Matsepe, President of the Learner Representative Council at Moletsane High School said "We are not intimidated by cops. We'll burn their vans if we want to. We have lawyers and advocates that can represent us."

Comparing the level of logical thought and rhetoric with age within the ANC system shows an alarming decrease from the not so impressive level of ministers, through Malema like utterances to this complete lack of anything.

Zuma Facing Payback Time and Faltering!

It was always clear that Zuma had got power by promising much that what he would not be able to deliver. Now that he can't honour those promises his presidency is faltering and he's trying to show strength.

Is Vavi Looking to His Own Future?

Not long ago Vavi was conciliatory, saying that he seriously believed that government could not afford more than it was offering. Now he's going to "bring the economy to a halt".

Vavi promises change and Regrets Supporting Zuma

He even seems to be saying that he will not support a second term for Zuma and regretting his role in brining Zuma to power.

So what sits behind this change of position - pressure or personal goals?

Strikers Terrorise South Africans !

This is definitely how it is in Zuma's Land - today entrances to hospitals were blocked and tomorrow teachers plan to block a freeway.

inappropriate actions by strikers

What these people think this has to do with strikes is incomprehensible - a strike is simply the withholding of one's labour to show one's worth, not terrorising the public and trashing the cities as they do in South Africa.

The unions "deplore such behavior" but do nothing about controlling or directing their members - unless of course they support this type of action.

Strikers should maybe remember that in the 70's British Unions lost their power after strikers started stoning cars leading to the killing of an innocent motorist!

Did Malema and Cronies Really Impersonate Police

We can be sure this will be denied as the work of a lying has been to try and get attention, or some such rhetoric!

News - Politics_ Malema link in _terrifying home raid_.jpg

The fact that this is even published is a sad reflection of the perceptions of many people in South Africa!

Wire Theft & Mob Justice Reflect a Horrific Situation!

This really can't do anything but ring all sorts of alarm bells! The lack of respect for human life and property is nightmarish!

Does it all come back to the need to eliminate poverty? or is it a much deeper National Psyche thing that we has driven ourselves to?

Nzimande has His Say on the Press - Still Smarting Under the Mount Nelson Story?

I wonder why Nzimande doesn't like the press? - IOL reported him as saying:

journalists were always "looking for bad news out of the ANC and its alliance partners".

Could it be he was exposed by the press or does he know ANC can't stop the misbehavior which is the raw material for the press?

Malema Talk - Is This Really Where We Are Headed?

How about this for intellectual political thought - I wonder why Mbeki didn't deploy him?

"If any ANC people were involved in chasing you away... they don't belong in the ANC,"
"They enjoy violence among blacks. They enjoy us killing each other. They can't sleep when we have peace."
"What are these jobs the people have taken from you? Working in a madam's kitchen, saying: 'Yes, madam, no, baas.' Earning peanuts and being treated like dogs? Is that the jobs? Those are not real jobs,"
"If the attacks were related to jobs, why were they not directed at university professors and other professionals?"

Zuma Can't Understand Those Who Brought Him To Power!

It doesn't take a rocket scientist, if you and your sidekicks are talking about machine guns and killing farmers, your supporters will also use violent means. If you can't deliver on your promises they will turn on you!

Also unless you have a short memory it will look rather like what the protestors were doing under the ANC's direction to make SA ungovernable!

Monday, August 10, 2009

One week to Zuma's 100 days.

As has become practice President Zuma's performance in his first 100 days in power will come under the spotlight on 17 August.

This website will be launched publicly on that day, to give those interested a chance to express their feelings.
